OPTION 1 (Parador of Vielha):

The Parador de Vielha is an ideal place to enjoy the nature of the Aran Valley and many rivers and lakes on the outskirts of the Aigüestortes National Park. In addition to fishing, you can enjoy a massage service, spa, indoor and outdoor pool, the terrace solarium for sunbathing, or the sauna.

The Hotel is located just 30 minutes from many rivers. We have selected this location in the central Pyrenees because it is the place in the entire Pyrenees that offers the best fishing guarantees from May to October. In addition, you can fish on the two sides of the Pyrenees, the north and the south.

From the hotel, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains of the Catalan Pyrenees and the extensive gardens surrounding the beautiful circular dining room. Some of the rooms have a terrace and opinions of the valley.

Very close to the hotel is the city of Viella, a tourist place where you can visit shops, buy handicrafts or visit the Romanesque church of San Miguel.

OPTION 2 (Parador de La Seu d'Urgell):

During some of our journeys, we operate from La Seu d’Urgell, where we collaborate with the renowned local Parador strategically located for exploring the Alt Pirineu Natural Park and Andorra. Known as the gem of Catalan Romanesque, this elegant Parador seamlessly blends an 18th-century cloister with modern décor. It provides facilities such as a heated pool, bar, restaurant, gym, sauna, and solarium, all in proximity to Catalonia’s sole preserved Romanesque cathedral, the Cathedral of Santa Maria.

The number of days you must hire a fly fishing guide in the Pyrenees varies depending on the objective of your fishing trip.

I always recommend hiring at least three days of fishing, which will allow you to know several scenarios. The perfect number of fishing days for a fishing trip is seven nights and six days, and this duration will enable you to understand fully all the fishing possibilities offered by this mountain range.

Another exciting option is to take a tour in which you can combine fishing from 2 of our operations centers. It is common for some fishermen to fish three days in the plains before the Pyrenees and 4 in our Aran Valley operations center or La Seu d’Urgell operations center.

Finally, there is always the possibility of hiring only one or two guided days of fishing. This formula is chosen by some tourists who want to practice fly fishing and combine it with other activities in the natural environment.

The qualification required to be a fly fishing guide in the Pyrenees varies depending on whether you are guided in Catalonia or Aragon:

  • Guide to the Catalan Pyrenees: in Catalonia, to guide, it is necessary to be registered on the Official Register of Sports Professionals. In addition, you must have the corresponding civil liability and accident insurance.
  • Guide in the Aragonese Pyrenees: in Aragon, the guide must have a company registered as an Active Tourism Company. To do this, you must be accredited as a guide and have first aid courses, civil liability, and accident insurance, among others.

In addition to the corresponding insurance and qualifications, when a fishing guide offers you the service of meals, accommodation, or transfer to the river, he offers you a combined trip.  To be able to sell package trips, it is necessary to be constituted as a travel agency.  Whether it is guided in Aragon or Catalonia.

Customers should always demand these qualifications from their guides, who can report to you if you hire an illegal fishing guide.

There is a heliport in the town of Viella, next to the Parador Nacional, from which we centralize our fly fishing operations in the Pyrenees.

When our operations center is located in La Seu d’Urgell we move to the heliport of Andorra La Vieja.

With the help of these heliports, we offer and organize guided fishing days in mountain lakes using a helicopter.

It is an incredible experience that will allow you to fish in places where others do not fish and enjoy amazing views of the Pyrenees with total comfort.

If you want to combine your guided fishing holiday in the Pyrenees with a day or two of helifishing, do not hesitate to ask us for a quote.

We insist on the importance of all travelers being covered by cancellation insurance.

For example: sometimes the trip has to be canceled due to an illness of the client or a close relative. If the trip is canceled less than 30 days in advance, only 50% of the trip’s price is refunded (it serves to meet the expenses incurred and losses caused by the trip).

Taking out cancellation insurance will refund 100% of the money paid for the trip.
