Trip details:

Species: Brown Trout and barbel.

Time of year: From May 1 to June 20.

Sceneries: Mountain rivers of the South Face of Gredos and lakes in the oak dehesas of Extremadura.

Transfers: Madrid airport and train station.

CUSTOMIZED FLY FISHING ITINERARY

The tour spans 7 nights and 6 days of fishing. Customer reception takes place at either the airport or the train station in Madrid. We operate from two centers: the National Parador of Jarandilla de la Vera (South Face of Gredos) and Hotel Cortijo Santa Cruz (Foothills of Gredos).

  • Reception of participants at the established place and time.
  • Transfer by vehicle to our first operations center of the trip located in Jarandilla de la Vera.
  • Dinner at the hotel.
  • 8 a.m.: Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
  • 9 a.m.: We will leave for the fishing area.
  • Guided fishing during the morning.
  • 2 p.m.: picnic lunch (first course, main course, dessert, water, coffee, and wine) on the riverbank.
  • Afternoon fishing.
  • Return to lodgings and dinner at the hotel. The customer sets the return time.
  • 7 a.m.: Breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
  • 8 a.m.: Departure to our second operations center, Hotel Cortijo Santa Cruz. El viaje dura 1,5 horas.
  • We will leave our luggage at the hotel.
  • 1 p.m.: Lunch at the restaurant of the Hondarribia Parador.
  • Afternoon fishing.
  • Return to the lodge and dinner at the hotel. The client sets the time of return.
  • 8 a.m.: Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
  • 9 a.m.: We will leave for the fishing area.
  • Guided fishing during the morning.

The material that we must take with us for this fishing trip is the following:

FISHING EQUIPMENT

Wader and feltless boots.

Boxes of flies (dry, nymphs, and some streamers): CDC flies, deer tricoptera, parachutes, small nymphs for the tandem, and some streamers of inconspicuous colors.

Rod: 9 feet #4 or #5.

1 reel with floating line.

Polarized glasses.

Fishing Net.

Cap.

Thread, thread cutter, fat for flies…

NUTRITION AND MEDICATION

Paracetamol, ibuprofen, antihistamines and all the medication you need.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.

CLOTHES

Essential clothing varies depending on the months of the year, but we always recommend bringing the following:

  • A fleece.
  • T-shirts and light pants for walking.
  • Poncho or raincoat for rain or humidity.

We insist on the importance of all travelers being covered by cancellation insurance.

For example: sometimes the trip has to be canceled due to an illness of the client or a close relative. If the trip is canceled less than 30 days in advance, only 50% of its price is refunded (it meets the expenses incurred and losses caused by not materializing the trip).

Taking out cancellation insurance will refund 100% of the money paid for the trip.
